From the Desk of…
I am definitely not buried under a mountain of emails. I am definitely still on top of things. I am thriving, in fact. At least, I would be, if I didn’t feel so sick to my stomach. Probably just indigestion from the nothing I had for breakfast. The ghouls from last week are squabbling over if we should have an August special election to restrict voting rights in Ohio, as those same ghouls already restricted voting rights by taking away August elections a few months ago. As a friend of mine once said, serenity now. In the rare bit of interestingly good news, a bipartisan coalition is pushing to get rid of the death penalty here. Not the first time they’ve pushed for it, and the power players are against it, but hey, at least they’re trying. You’re also in line to pay more for electric this summer because AEP mysteriously needs to raise prices to cover “procurement costs.” This, after it was revealed that they have completely abandoned infrastructure maintenance, after they have made such poor managerial decisions as to be routinely and regularly lambasted for their unannounced blackouts and asking us to have Christmas in the dark, this… oh well. I guess you get what you pay for when you own your own regulators.
At least Taco Bell is bringing back the Volcano Menu.
The Brain Dump

"Senior leadership is thinking we'll need this popped up ASAP... what are your thoughts?" "well. some would say that desire is the root of all suffering." they are gonna stop inviting my ass to meetings
Fewer things in the brain dump this week due to being generally busy. Also, the remake of Resident Evil 4.

Mikey and Nicky (1976), dir. Elaine May ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ❤️
watching this reminded me of the time I had to abruptly take care of someone after their wisdom teeth removal but also they refused to listen to anything and anyone and they somehow got dry sockets despite everyone telling them they were going to if they didn't stop doing what they were doing and they just simply could not and would not change and yes i know they're reading this right now and i was still in the right to make you buy me a new mixing bowl after you filled mine with blood and spit it was like five dollars and i was done arguing about it i spent more than that driving to the CVS to get your gauze
and i would still do it again, inexplicably
In a Lonely Place (1950), dir. Nicholas Ray ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ❤️
man's name was Dix Steele, everyone had to say Dix Steele unironically
I need a new storage solution for my physical media. Even cleaning up the junk room didn’t help.
One Picture
They weren’t terrible for being the first cakes baked and decorated by me in, like, two years. Just not really a cakes person.
In closing,
This Friday (03/31) is Transgender Day of Visibility 2023. I’ll quote here last year’s presidential proclamation from Joe Biden, a man emblematic of the moderate Democratic Mainstays in Pew’s political typology.
On this Transgender Day of Visibility, we honor transgender people who are fighting for freedom, equality, dignity, and respect. We also celebrate the parents, teachers, coaches, doctors, and other allies who affirm the identities of their transgender children and help these young people reach their potential. Transgender people are some of the bravest Americans I know, and our Nation and the world are stronger, more vibrant, and more prosperous because of them. To transgender Americans of all ages, I want you to know that you are so brave. You belong. I have your back.
That’s the moderate position the Biden administration put forward in 2022. I’d go so far as to say that disagreeing with this full-throated celebration and support is immoderate. Immoderate, to say the least.
