From the Desk of…
Apologies for the delay; my meetings have been running long. That, and I’ve spent too much time listening to Zamfir, Master Of The Pan Flute. Did you know he’s sold over 20 million records around the world? Anyway, they coronated some jackass to be the new king of England. That’s none of my business. Several shootings took place in Columbus this weekend, with ten people being injured in the Short North at around 2:30 a.m. on Saturday. “How many of the 10 were shot by officers is under investigation,” and that’s why you haven’t heard much about it. Of course that’s very small in contrast to the heartbreaking shooting in Allen, Texas where a Nazi killed eight people, including three young children. Of course, some folks are immediately refusing to believe that the shooter could be a Nazi, probably because they are also Nazis. There’s also some protesting happening at the Statehouse shortly - go there at 1:30 p.m. to tell your representatives you care about democracy.
At least we’re back to being the heart of it all.
The Brain Dump
I just think we should give serious consideration to the annexation of several territories, starting with the ones inside 270
there should be like a food truck that drives around delivering ice cream 🤯
they should release an album that's just the unforgettable sound of that magical instrument - the panflute - preferably played by a master and showcasing the world's most beautiful melodies
they call it Bumblebee Tuna so they can more easily transition to using an insect-based replacement once the oceans turn acidic
remake of The Wicker Man but I'm Lord Summerisle and I live in the Longaberger building
Some good thoughts this week, eh?
At the Movies
I wonder how much of the Nic Cage I’ll actually see this weekend.
Deep Rising (1998), dir. Stephen Sommers ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This would've been five stars if it starred Bill Paxton.
They got lucky by casting a bunch of other people I like though.
2010 (1984), dir. Peter Hyams ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sure, it's not one of the greatest films of all time, but it's pretty good for what it is.
I've always loved the final message and narration. Just a banger ending.
Island of Lost Souls (1932), dir. Erle C. Kenton ⭐⭐⭐⭐
new impossible-to-get Halloween costume idea just dropped
I simply must get back to the long reviews.
One Picture
And don’t you forget it.
In closing,
Sorry, my last meeting ran late.
