Boy, that wildfire smoke is really hitting at the same time as this pollen. Fantastic times for the folks with breathing problems. I’ve multiple deadlines colliding today, so I’ll be brief. I gotta get this out before alcohol class. In a rare honest moment, Frank LaRose admitted that Issue 1 is “100% about keeping a radical, pro-abortion amendment out of our constitution.” I encourage you to vote No on Issue 1 this August 8th. Mayors from around the country came to be shuttled around Andy Ginther’s Approved Model Villages. My invite must have been lost in the mail. SAG-AFTRA might strike. In this house, Fran Drescher is a hero. Oh, and some folks announced they’re gonna waste money running for president. More on that when anyone cares.
Happy Pride, and a hearty welcome to Carmella Creeper, the first fresh face in the Monster Cereals family in 35 years.
The Brain Dump
i think i could survive being infected with the t-virus
when I saw Hawaii play OSU several years ago, someone sitting behind me kept unironically talking about the "rainbows on their uniforms" in a very Foxworthyesque voice
if you know what I'm supposed to do today please DM urgently as I do not remember
I will otherwise go drive around looking at stores until I remember or go home
I will not get lost this time
damn... y'all really forgiving those who trespass against you?
alright. i'll admit it. i am carrying the ohio cryptic lineage.
Right, more updates on the Ohio cryptic lineage. Only in Ohio, baybee! Also, Chuck Todd is out at Meet The Press, finally.
At the Movies
“What will you be watching, Senator? Something GAY, no doubt.”
Dog Day Afternoon (1975), dir. Sidney Lumet ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ❤️
"Why rob a bank when you got a sucker for a mother?"
This is the appropriate level of support someone should give their partner. If they're not willing to rob a bank and rally the crowd against the cops for you, what's the point? Sonny all the way.
People firing on all cylinders here, just great performances all around.
Algeria is known for its Howard Johnson's, tbf
The Haunting (1963), dir. Robert Wise ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Sometimes, it's a struggle to queer the text.
Not always, though.
The book is better.
Midnight Cowboy (1969), dir. John Schlesinger ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ❤️
Like Joe, I am all too accustomed to people using me for my body instead of simple friendship.
I don't think I'd watched this in twenty years, and I was worried I wouldn't like it so much this time. Boy, was I wrong. To think this Jon Voight would end up being, uh, present-day Jon Voight. Or even the Jon Voight in Anaconda! And Dustin Hoffman, what a show. I hadn't realized how much he'd squirreled away in my brain as a stock voice for that type of guy. That's not even bringing up the all-time banger of a song that "Everybody's Talkin'" is.
I also learned that I have reflexive responses to seeing Bob Balaban in text or in video.
Wow!
If I see one picture in theaters this weekend, I’m making it The Watermelon Woman.
One Picture
Honestly? Mood.
In closing,
Once I’m doing fewer jobs, I’ll be able to write more thoughts down, but I have got to figure out how to make money off this. It’s simply too good.
